Biography
Vanesa was born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, Central America. At the age of 12 she moved to Paris, France and while attending school focused on TV Hosting and production during after school programs. After a year she returned to El Salvador and got her start acting in several musicals including “Oliver Twist”, “Fiddler on the Roof” and “The Sound of Music”.
Aside from acting, she was also a professional volleyball player. She played in several international tournaments representing El Salvador and won her first MVP award in 1997. In 2000, she graduated from high school with honors, receiving the International Baccalaureate as well as receiving the “Prince Philip award, for student of the Year”. Shortly after graduating high school, Vanesa moved to Vancouver, Canada to further pursue her career as an actress.
Along with studying acting in Vancouver, she also became a certified Broadcaster. In 2001 she started by co-hosting a radio show on 96.1 FM and by 2002 had her own show on CFBT ‘The Beat 94.5 FM’ in Vancouver. By mid-2004, her show had become one of the top weekend morning shows in the city. She left the station at the end of 2004 to focus completely on acting and TV Hosting. Some of Vanesa’s selected works include: A lead role in “A girl like me: The Gwen Araujo Story”, “The Farm”, “White Noise 2″, “L Word”, the animated series “Sabrina’s Secret Life” (now airing) , “Vice”, “Masters of Science Fiction”, “A little thing called murder”, “Smallville”, “Civic Duty” and a supporting lead role as the voice of Carolina for the show “Martha Speaks”. Vanesa is very passionate about Politics and the development of third wold countries, it is for that reason that she also attends University to finish a degree in Political Science and Economics. Her goal is to help her country of El Salvador through politics and fight for a just legal and social system.
